Very often black designers do not get the mainstream exposure that is needed in the story telling process to help move the needle. From the first piece I copped which was the Denim Tears x Virgil collab I knew his story was different. The story telling was crisp yet extensive. I am enamored by his ability to communicate his spirit into his pieces. Each time he drops it feel like why wasn’t this made already? I have yet to see him miss and that is a skill. When mixing something that is culturally relevant and also being function enough to wear years down the road. We look forward to seeing more from him as he mixes his political opinions of how to move the needle forward for a better black future and also teaching us how others paved the way for us to be here.
