Born on January 10, 1965, is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chicago Bears and the Dallas Cowboys, winning a Super Bowl ring with the Cowboys in Super Bowl XXVII. Pruitt began his football journey at Paul Robeson High School in Chicago, where he excelled as a running back, free safety, and wide receiver, earning accolades for his performances. He continued his football career at the University of Colorado. Pruitt finished ranked as school's All-time tackler (340 tackles) among defensive backs and third in Big Eight Conference history for defensive backs. He registered 41 starts.

In 1989, he was named to the University of Colorado All-Century football team and to the Big Eight Conference All-Decade team". After college Pruitt signed with the Chicago Bears, transitioning to outside linebacker and making significant contributions on special teams. He later joined the Dallas Cowboys, where he played a role in their Super Bowl victory. Pruitt also had brief stints with the Philadelphia Eagles before transitioning into coaching roles at various universities and eventually becoming the director of the Chicago Bears Youth Football Camps in 2012.
